Birthday Treat

I was impressed with the directions and signage to the location and the welcome and hospitality by the lady security officer at the gate. The tour itself was well organized and professionally conducted. The scenery was exotic and a highlight by the turning around of the train for the return journey. The icing on the cake was the tour and history of the great house and the relaxed atmosphere.

Trains Rum … and Architecture

Anne was gracious - and - allowed us to reschedule at the last minute due to Covid testing at our hotel. We spent most of the morning on site with the tour, train ride & tasting the rum made on site. It was joyous and we would highly recommend that you visit with your kids for the train ride. The odd Turkey birds were fun to check out and loved the bread thrown from the train. If you’re at all interested in architecture please go on a tour of the home and estate. The home is one of only three such Architecture styles left in the Western Hemisphere in survival. This was a real treat.

So glad you enjoyed your visit with us. The Abbey is truly a wonderful property and as a family it is wonderful to slowly see it come back “alive” and have visitors enjoy it. Safe travels and thank you again didn’t visiting.

Best views and great history

It was like a step back in time to see this Plantation. So interesting to see trees that are over 400 years old and to learn about the history of how this was built and the train built. We were celebrating our 15th anniversary and purchased a bottle of rum which they engraved commemorating that on the bottle. So nice!!

Nice day at the Abbey, and on the railroad. The train took you on a little run of the property, and engineer let us sit up in the engine. Tour was interesting, checking the architecture and the great rum and gift shop.

A wonderful and unique addition to Barbados' attractions

This was my second trip on the railway and I found it as delightful as the first one. Beautiful location, well-organized, great attention to details and, of course, the wonderful train team with its narratives that were both informative and humourous. The little Cafe is a nice spot to have a coffee before or after. Congratulations to the inventors of this unique experience. It won't have been the last time I went!
