Departure Time

10:35 AM
After being picked up from your Barbados hotel or cruise ship port, set out to explore the island’s East Coast. After a quick stop to take in the views from Cherry Tree Hill, visit the historic Morgan Lewis Windmill, the island’s last remaining sugar mill, where you can watch a sugar grinding demonstration and sample a glass of sweet sugar cane juice.

Continue along the coast to Bathsheba beach and admire spectacular views across the Caribbean as you watch the surfers taking to the waves. Next, stop at St John's Church, a 17th-century Gothic style church located in a stunning cliff-top setting, affording impressive views along the coast.

Head towards the West Coast, passing through St George’s Parish on the way to Bridgetown. Then, spend time exploring the Garrison Historic Area, part of the Bridgetown UNESCO World Heritage site, and learn more about the island’s colonial history and independence.

For lunch (included), tuck into delicious Caribbean cuisine at Copacabana Barbados restaurant, located right on the beachfront. After some free time to relax and enjoy the beach, set out on a scenic boat cruise around Carlisle bay. While on-board, keep a look out for sea turtles and other marine life, then prepare for a thrilling wildlife encounter.

After a safety briefing and instruction on how to swim around the turtles, dive into the ocean to swim and enjoy a closer look at the wild sea turtles. Swimming will be accompanied by a guide at all times, and there will be no contact or interaction with the sea turtles to ensure that their natural environment is not disturbed.

After returning to shore, your driver will be waiting to take you back to your hotel.

St. John's Church
The St John Parish Church According to the Anglican tradition, worship has been conducted on this spot since 1645. The first building, a wooden structure, was destroyed by fire in 1676 and replaced by a stone structure. Following the hurricanes of 1780 and 1831, the current building was constructed in 1836. Fernando Paleologus,a former church warden and planter was buried under the choir when he died in 1670. He was buried with his head pointing to the west and the body embedded in quicklime in accordance with the Greek Orthodox custom. Following the hurricane of 1831 his tomb was moved to the churchyard. Paleologus was a descendent of the brother of the great Emperor Constantine XI He fled to Barbados after his family was driven from the throne of Constantinople by the Turks

Morgan Lewis Mill
The Morgan Lewis Sugar Mill was built in 1727 it is one of the many Barbadian windmills once used to produce sugar, and one of the two last functioning sugar windmills in the world. The Morgan Lewis Mill ceased grinding sugarcane for commercial purposes in 1947 and was subsequently given to the Barbados National Trust. The site was listed in the 1996 World Monuments Watch by the World Monuments Fund. Restoration began by the Barbados National Trust during the following summer. In 1997, financial support was provided by American Express for emergency repairs. The mill was reopened in 1999. With all its original working parts having been preserved intact, the sails were able to turn again after the project was completed.

Cherry Tree Hill
Cherry Tree Hill is eight hundred and fifty (850) ft above sea level and is a part of St. Nicholas Abbey plantation. Actually due to the size of the St. Nicholas Abbey property, Cherry Tree Hill actually borders, St.Peter and St. Andrew. Many years ago, the drive on either side to get to it was flanked by cherry trees, thus the reason for its name; however these were replaced with mahogany trees which now line the road. The trees were planted in celebration of the signing of The Treaty of Paris in 1763. This is when France gave England back the islands that they had stolen from them during the Napoleonic wars. (Barbados was not one of the Islands Captured)

Carlisle Bay al crescent-shaped bay located on the South West Coast of the island and is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful beaches. in the world. On most days Carlisle Bay boasts calm turquoise waters with no undertow, delicately lapping on the soft white sand. This bay draws both locals and tourists alike with its breath-taking beauty above water, but also its’ thriving marine park that is enjoyed by scuba divers and snorkelers alike. Under the surface of the sea Carlisle Bay comes alive with vibrant tropical fish in abundance, sea horses, sea turtles, octopus, rays, and much more! This unique array of marine life is due in part to the six different ship wrecks in the water as shallow as 12ft. The wrecks are obviously another important contributor to the popularity of Carlisle Bay. For those seeking an adventure, you will not be disappointed with the sight of these sunken treasures. Please note that the sea life seen from day to day varies.

Lovely day out!

Calvin, our tour guide, arrived promptly and was friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed being shown around this beautiful island, and the hour on the boat and swimming were fabulous! Lunch was okay but we wouldn’t return to the restaurant.

The tour was very good. Driver/tour guide did an excellent job. Unfortunately due to a change in the ships schedule we had to miss the boat ride and swimming with the turtles.
Great introduction to Barbados
, Jan 2020
Calvin was a wonderful host in Barbados. The island is very safe, very clean and organised. We were briefed on the customs, how to deal with the sales people (a haggling lesson) and Barbados laws. All very helpful for witless tourists. The sights were amazingly beautiful, particularly Bathsheba beach. Great time snorkeling with green turtles, fish, stingrays (safely on the ocean floor) and shipwreck. Calvin and the tranquility crew provided an unforgettable day for our family. Thank you

This was a great tour--just my wife and our guide, Calvin. While on the pricey side, Calvin is with you for everything you want to see or do. Has a lot of knowledge of the island is personable and worth the price. Highly recommended.

My favourite part - when a green monkey sat on my shoulder. We stopped by a beach and a man happened to be there with his pet monkey.

This was our third of three full day tours with viator a and glory tours. Quamy our tour guide, who we had already met from the prior day's tour, managed to further inform us rather than just repeat information he had shared from the previous day. Loved the food provided, Enojyed the clean and well air conditioned bus. Randy, our snorkel and boat guide, personally helped my mother with physical disabilities, fully enjoy her snorkelling of the shipwreck by swimming alongside her. I would strongly recommend this tour company! We aboslutely loved Chris, Quamy and Randy!

Tour was good,we were the only 2 in the taxi. One disappointment was the boat portion. It turned out to be a small outboard instead of a sail boat as pictured in the ad,as this one beside the review portion of this e-mail. Also ,we were th only ones on boat tour so it turned out ok. Everyone was very friendly.
