Overview
The Snake River is an ideal location to see some of Wyoming’s beautiful flora and fauna—especially bald eagles, ospreys, and pelicans—near Grand Teton National Park. Rather than rush down the river on a whitewater or kayaking trip, float down a scenic 13-mile (21 kilometers) stretch of the river on an easygoing raft. Plus, get round-trip transportation from the outfitter's office in Jackson.

- WHAT TO WEAR:
- For scenic floats, you should dress according to the weather. Keep in mind that the weather changes quickly at mountain elevations, and layering your clothing will enhance your comfort. This way you can peel or add layers as the conditions change. Sturdy shoes you wouldn't mind getting wet or dirty are recommended.
- WEATHER
- We have access to real-time doppler radar. Some trips cancel due to inclement weather. If you have concerns, please call our office. Weather changes quickly, so even inclement weather a half hour before departure does not necessarily mean cancellation. Cancelled trips result in offer to rebook or refund.

The scenery was beautiful. Our tour guide, Michael, was experienced, knowledgeable, and entertaining! We were on a family vacation. The youngest in the raft was 4 years old. It was relaxing and calm. The river was a little high and flowing quickly from recent rain, but Michael clearly knew what he was doing and avoided obstacles like a pro, and no one got wet!

Staff were friendly and welcoming. Everything was ready to go when we arrived. After a short drive from the office to the river, our river guide, Travis, got us secured into our life vests, then a brief review of raft/river safety , and we were off. Travis was friendly and assuring - as he saw our initial unease with our first raft trip. He skillfully maneuvered the raft through the areas of the river with somewhat rougher waters.
Travis was very informative on details of the river, wildlife, ecology and the surrounding mountains. We were able so see a few animals - several Bald Eagles, pelicans, marmot, one elk and several beaver lodges. Being able to enjoy the quiet and beauty of the river and surrounding mountains was just what we needed! After about 2 hours on the river, we landed where the shuttle bus was awaiting our arrival - for transport back to Jackson.
This raft trip made for a very pleasant outdoor adventure and was definitely a highlight of our vacation to the Yellowstone/Grand Teton region.

This was a spur of the moment activity for us, but we were so happy with our decision to float with Lewis and Clark. Ben and Nancy were personable, knowledgeable, and so much fun! The entire boat was so sad when it was over because it was that good! We even contemplated booking another float later that day.
