Swim with Sharks (cage-free) from Haleiwa, Oahu

Me and my boyfriend had an awesome experience with island view Hawaii. The guides were awesome and had a lot to share about the Hawaiian culture. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good thrill!

If I could give them 10 stars I would. Kama and Kala were amazing! To paint a bit of a picture we (my fiance and 11 year old son) were coming from the Disney Aulani Resort and hit some traffic on the way over. Kama contacted us and we informed him we were running about 10 minute late. He was very patient and understanding as were the other 2 members of our group. Once we got there we loaded up immediately and were on our way! We were extremely nervous (swimming with sharks in open water WITHOUT a cage) who wouldn't be?! Kama and Kala had a great sense of humor and made us feel right at home on the boat. They provided us an informative safety presentation but more importantly reminded us to leave all our preconceived notions about these creatures at shore. If we were to truly enjoy this experience we had to enter the water calm and ready to embrace what the ocean and these beautiful creatures had to offer. We headed out to sea for about 15 minutes about 2-3 miles off the coast. The water that day was extremely choppy and they informed us that they were near cancelling the excursion but felt as though they could operate safely. We were extremely grateful for them taking safety into consideration. Once we got out to sea they ran the motors to attract the sharks (sharks were drawn to the boats due to thinking they were going to get easy bites of crab or fish). Kama jumped in the water to ensure safety and then informed us that we would each be slowly entering the waters. Our son was so eager he was the first one out there! I am not such a strong swimmer and requested to use a flotation device that they had them readily available. Once we were in the water we were out there for about 30-40 minutes just floating in the sea with these majestic creatures. Once in the water we didn't have time to feel fear and continued to practice breathing while taking in the experience. Our son is a strong swimmer and was living his best life! We were able to see Galapagos and reef sharks but the true experience came when the 18 foot tiger shark graced our presence. She was the alpha of the sea and all other sharks cleared out with her presence. She hung out with us for about 10-12 minutes before disappearing into the depths. Throughout the experience Kama continued to check in on us and how we were feeling. He continued to reassure us in the water and instructed us on how to swim so as to continue to remain calm. The best part was at the end. We returned to shore slightly disheartened as we weren't able to take our cameras into the water due to risk of them dropping into the 300 ft depths and the electromagnetic output they have which heightens or deters sharks. Kala asked us all to turn on our AirDrop and he immediately AirDropped all the photos and video that Kama had been taking throughout the excursion. We were left with some of the most amazing footage and memories. These guys are the real deal and are amazing all around! Book with them they care about the ocean and you will be well taken care of with them! They don't chum the waters and reminded us that this is illegal. These guys are amazing I can't say enough positive things about them!

Great experience, affordable, they take the photos and share with you for free. The sharks are attracted to boats so they don’t chum the water.

It was a good experience, a bit pricy & wish I would of seen more sharks, but understand that’s they have no control over Mother Nature. I would do this again, if I had visitors that were interested in it. Our guides were so chill and made sure everyone felt safe at all times.

Guys where super nice, made you feel at ease and very informative. Super worth it, we saw spinner dolphins on the way out and the swim with sharks was peaceful. Equipment was comfortable.

What an incredible experience!!! Couldn’t have asked for a better day. We saw around 10 Galapagos sharks, Barracudas and a Tiger shark! The guys were hilarious and made the whole day that much more enjoyable! We could not recommend this experience enough! Oh and don’t bother with any other company, these guys are the OGs

Braxton and his team from Island View was absolutely amazing and a perfect ending to our trip! We booked this last minute as hubby was scared! It was actually so relaxing to be able to enjoy the experience of watching these amazing creatures swim beneatg us!

We had such an amazing experience!! The guides made us all feel very comfortable and took amazing pictures for us!! I would 100% recommend this excursion for anyone looking for some adventure!!

Absolutely fantastic time!! Money well spent. I was wary at first since the guys were so young. But they have the necessary knowledge to keep you safe and find the sharks!! Was definitely a bucket list trip. Could have been longer but it was great
