Amazing experience!!

It was an amazing experience. The forest is magical and breathtaking with it's beautiful wildlife and sounds. The muddy and rocky trails was quite an experience for a first timer. Jason & George were amazing!! They are outgoing, friendly and so chill. My daughter & I were picked up on timely manner. Instructions and expectations of the tour were thorough. The crew at the Bio Bay were hysterical!! OMG!! They made us laugh so much!!! I had an amazing time!!

The guides were very knowledgeable and helpful the entire way. George and Franchesca made sure everyone was safe and kept us motivated. The slides were my favorite part! Definitely worth the trip!

Really enjoyed it

Really enjoyed this trip! All of our tour guides were incredibly friendly. Great mix of activities. Hike is short and sweet with rock scrambles during the water activities. We enjoyed the kayaking as well even though the bioluminescence is minimal. You’ll need to be able to paddle and kayak in the dark, so be prepared. It’s a lot to do both activities in one day, so you’ll be very tired afterwards.

The sights on this trip were amazing and our tour guides, Jason, George, and Mitchell were incredible! I would HIGHLY recommend this 2 in 1 tour. Just be prepared that there seems to be a lot of waiting around during the day. The bus picked us up about 20 minutes past our designated time, then we waited about 30 minutes for the bus to pick us up after lunch, and then we waited about 25 minutes at the kayak rental. The waiting is fine, as long as it’s communicated what we’re waiting on. Other than that, everyone in my group of 8 had a blast and were so glad we chose this tour!

We loved this. The rock water slide was everything you want it to be. The journey isn’t to intense the guides made sure everyone made it without a struggle! Words really don’t describe how amazing the rainforest is!! The 2nd part of the trip Bio Bay was fun. The kayak trip was so entertaining considering I’ve never done it. The water did not light up how I wanted it to but regardless we did see it happen! I would recommend this tour 10 times over. You really do get your moneys worth and after the rainforest everything else is just a bonus!

Shortened hike due to rain

Sadly the rain caused the water to rise so our rainforest hike was cut short we didn’t get to waterfalls or jump off any cliffs or rope swing.

Not what we expected
Martina_S

You will spent HOURS in the bus or waiting around. The hike is a very short one, definitely not 3.2 miles as they claim. Large group so you will also wait a lot for others to catch up and taking your turn when sliding/jumping. Too much time is spent at shopping/food places rather than in the rain forest. Then you wait again at the bay for it get dark so you can start the kayaking. The bioluminescent water was a joke. Needed to get under a tarp so see any of it by putting your hands in the water. It was disappointing. However the guides were terrific: friendly, helpful and funny! They deserve 5 stars

We are sorry to learn the activity did not met your expectations. Even thou the description says hike is 30 minutes approximately and provides a breakdown of how the total 12 hours are spent, we understand that sometimes the pace or size of the group can alter the schedule. There is also a disclaimer about the use of a tarp during the full moon phase. We lament this day went differently and you couldn't enjoy it completely, at the same time we appreciate your feedback on the guides, as they are the soul of the experience!

Great experience!

Wonderful experience on our honeymoon. If you're doing the full tour there's really no need to bring along a set of dry clothes. The hike wasn't super muddy on our day, a sturdy pair of water shoes would have been fine. Plenty of sunscreen and bug spray...especially for the bio bay tour. If you're planning ahead, aim for a new moon to maximize the visibility but the crew had tarps to help block the ambient light to see the luminescence. Definitely recommend!

This was such an amazing experience, the rainforest was my favorite part. I highly recommend booking with transportation included, it cost us an additional $80 for a taxi ride to meet the bus, but everyone was super friendly and welcoming. Felix and the other guys made it an awesome trip!

Summer camp in the rainforest!

The tour guides were wonderful. All information provided ahead of time recommended not to bring cash but this was a mistake. We didn't bring cash and couldn't tip our drivers and tour guides which was a huge bummer. The actual hike itself was much less than expected, but the rock climbing caught me off guard. Lots of waiting for other tours to pass through. Overall, this was a wonderful experience.

Muddy and magical
Liz_Y
, Apr 2022
The bioluminescent bay tour was magical. My daughter (age 14) said she felt like a Disney princess. It was the highlight of our time in PR. The rainforest was great too. The hike was muddy and strenuous. The rock slides and cliff jump were frightening but we completed them safely. My only complaint: not nearly enough bathroom opportunities. Would recommend!

"Magical" Bioluminescent Bay - NOT
Russell_W
, Apr 2022
There are two parts to this Combo Tour review: El Yonke and the "magical" Bioluminescent Bay. El Yonke was about a 4 and looked like pictures on the website. Crowded but a nice experience. Unfortunately the "magical" Bioluminescent Bay was a complete waste of time and money - nothing like the description and hype. Note I didnt say pictures because after a very disappointing experience and reviewing the promotional website there are no "bioluminescent" photos from this trip! We arrived early and waited for the sun to go down, kayaking to the bay only to wait for dusk and then put a smelly plastic camping tarp over our heads (twice) to darken the view and splash with our hands to see a few sparkles. The glass bottom kayaks were black and useless. The nice staff tried keeping us engaged like bored kids at summer camp by pointing out constellations with a laser pointer. I should add that we planned this trip to PR based on the lunar phase to maximize our experience. As we kayaked out in pitch dark we saw many 100+ kayaks coming out. My advice is not to go on this combo tour. Do your research and go to Mosquito Bay on the island of Vieques which according to many sources is the best/brightest in the world.

Great Adventure!
Aneesa_D
, Apr 2022
Wonderful experience and our tour guide, Jason was wonderful! If you go on a Saturday the main trail may be closed so be prepared for some extra adventure! Definitely need to be agile. We had a blast! Kayaking was fun! The guides helped us to see the bioluminescence with tarps since it wasn’t very bright that day.

Bad communication
Erin_M
, Apr 2022
The actual excursion-hike and kayak were nice. My kids enjoyed them both. It is a long day, but they enjoyed it. The communication around pick up and drop off was awful. I got an email from one place saying a pick up location. I contacted viator which confirmed pick up at my hotel. No one showed up so I called tour operator who said they were running late but would be at the hotel. 15 min later called back bc they still weren’t there. She informed me I needed to take a taxi to a different location. Very stressful start. On the way back the driver dropped us at the lunch location and there was no Uber service and it was 9:30 at night. Made for long and stressful end. This miscommunication could have been avoided and the day much better.

AWESOME bio bay tour; rainforest experience compromised by the tour guide
lina
, Apr 2022
This is actually a two tours combo. I would give the second bio bay tour a 10 star out of 5! So awesome experience and helpful professional friendly crew. Great timing to get into water at sunset, paddling thru canal, looking for the bio luminous organism, constellation telling, etc so magical and beautiful! However, the first tour was a little disappointing. The guide didn’t give much info on what to expect, schedule, agenda, etc. caused my misjudgment that I didn’t participate most of this tour. The tour description is an understatement of the toughness and how muddy and wet you would get.

PR Yunque and Bay familiarization and island tour
Rachel_S
, Apr 2022
If you’re a serious hiker looking for a 2 hour trip into the Yunque this is not it. This is for a taste and a familiarization of the Yunque, information from a local, and fun with natural water adventure. These ppl will help u every step of the way.this is also a great trip if u don’t want to rent a car, but want to see more of the island. Between activities we visited another beach with food kiosks and shopping. The bay at sunset was the highlight with the Yunque’s outline in the backdrop. The tour guide Rally gave so much interesting info on the bay and the environment. The leader gave great quick kayak familiarization and then it was off to the races! My teenage daughter and I had a great day!
